Derwent Estate 2009 Pinot Noir

$35.00 - $370.00

Granton, Tasmania

Derwent Estate shares the Granton sub-sub-region with Stefano Lubiana and Laurel Bank. Rich, plush flavours are the order of the locale. The Mt Nassau property has been in the Hanigan family since 1913; wine production is a recent addition to traditional farming activities.

Julian Alcorso of Winemaking Tasmania makes the wine. Look for rich cherry/berry flavours with subtle oak and firm but textured finish owing to partial wild ferment.

  • Gold Medal and TROPHY for Best 2008 Pinot Noir of Show, International Cool Climate Wine Show, Mornington May 2011
  • Gold Medal 2011 Tasmanian Wine Show
  • 5 stars and top of class May/June Winestate magazine

In recognition of the quality of the pinots exhibited Derwent Estate also received the Tasmanian Wine Show award for 2011 Tasmanian Pinot Noir Producer of the year

Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
