Dry River 2018 Pinot Noir

An icon of Martinborough and New Zealand pinot, Dry River produces exceptional wines. Former winemaker and owner Neil McCallum was a pioneer, having planted the vineyard in 1979. After 42 years, the winemaking and viticultural practices are completely in tune with the location, and the Pinot Noirs are an outstanding statement of the virtues of old vines and experience.

Michele's notes: Deep colour – rich ruby. Inviting and lifted aroma of dark, brooding fruits, spice, beef tartare and wet stone. Supremely silky at first sip. All the characteristic Dry River depth of flavour is there but there is also a balancing refreshing quality. Plum, brambleberries, mocha and liquorice, with a hit of intense dark raspberry on the finish. Infinitely complex - what joy it will be to sit with a glass over dinner and company. While drinking well now, it has all the harmony and balance to also cellar for up to 10 years.
