Hurley Vineyard 2009 'The Climats' Pinot Noirs

Kevin Bell and Tricia Byrnes make pinot noir with great integrity and the utmost attention to detail to celebrate the unique qualities of their Mornington site. Dependent on vintage, individual pinot noir wines are made from the three separate vineyard blocks, 'The Climats' - Garamond, Hommage & Lodestone. Pinot Shop has secured stock of 2009 Garamond and 2009 Hommage, but only in very limited quantities.

2009 Hurley Vineyard Garamond Pinot Noir $62: Deep but clear ruby. Intense and sweet aromas of blackcurrant and brighter raspberry with spice - cinnamon and aromatic cardamom, and even a note of sweet biscuit. Bouquet is complex and evolving. Brilliant flavour profile - exquisite and richly-weighted fruit with excellent texture and lingering flavours. Plenty of sexy pinot curves but with a core of strength and savouriness. A must-have.

2009 Hurley Vineyard Hommage Pinot Noir $55: A little lighter on its feet than Garamond but no less flavoursome and delicious. Medium depth colour with garnet tinges - beautifully translucent. Vivacious aromatics with hint of orange peel that is most attractive. Sweet and sour cherries with a suggestion of richer blood plum. It bursts onto the palate but is also really silky. Zippy and enlivening, completely delicious and more-ish, with perfectly integrated fruit, oak, acid and ultra fine tannins.
