Pipers River, Tasmania –
2006 Jansz Vintage Rosé is made entirely from pinot noir of Jansz’s Pipers River vineyards. Bubbly maestra and winemaker Natalie Fryar manages an exquisite balance between power and richness on the one hand and pure florals and fruit on the other.
Technical notes read ‘whole bunch presing, fermentation in aged French oak casks and careful ageing for over 30 months (on lees).’ There would be very few who might argue with the assertion that this is the best sparkling rosé made in this country; indeed it would give many a big ticket (and big dollar) Champagne Rosé more than a run for its money.
