Grandmother Margaret Pooley started it all when she established Cooinda Vale Wines, home of exceptional riesling. Grandson Matt Pooley makes the Pooley family Pinot Noir and Riesling from the now expanded (and renamed) vineyard and Dad John looks after the marketing. Not everyone can stay at home though, daughter Anna Pooley makes the fine wines of the reborn Heemskerk label from southern Tasmanian fruit.
Pooley Pinot Noir is a Coal Valley classic. Medium weight, red fruits, fine structure. Great cellaring potential for this excellent vintage.

We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir.
That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
