Was:$231.00

Now: $195.00

Tamar Valley, Relbia, TAS -

Warm western bank of the Tamar and the gentle, sunny slopes of Relbia (south of Launceston near the airport) create fullsome pinots with enticing bouquets.

Pack contains 1 each of these wines:

  • 2008 Josef Chromy Pinot Noir – elegant and structured Relbia pinot with marked aromatics on the nose. Excellent potential for ageing.
  • 2009 Goaty Hill Pinot Noir - rich black fruit swathed in fine/chewy tannins and a thread of acid to keep things balanced and fresh. The best pinot yet under this label.
  • 2008 Heemskerk Tamar Pinot Noir - In 2008 Anna Pooley made two pinot noirs - one from the Derwent Valley and this full-bodied wine from the Tamar. Plum and dark cherry with earthy/grippy texture. Excellent with meat braises.
  • 2008 Chartley Estate Pinot Noir – Rowella vineyard near Batman Bridge, wine is made by Julian Alcorso of Winemaking Tasmania. Lots of dark fruits and richly aromatic. Vintage 2007 is now in its prime.
  • 2007 Pirie Estate Pinot Noir – Pure but not simple, florals evident in this harmonious wine from Andrew Pirie. Medium weight but with lingering flavours.
  • 2006 Silk Hill The Supply Pinot Noir – dark cherry, plum and earth distinguish the pinots from Gavin Scott’s Gravelly Beach vineyard. This Gold Medallist from the 2009 Hobart International Show has extra smoothness and richness. Drink now or keep for another 2-3 years.
