Tamar Valley, Relbia, TAS -

Warm western bank of the Tamar and the gentle, sunny slopes of Relbia (south of Launceston near the airport) create fullsome pinots with enticing bouquets.

Pack contains 1 each of these wines:

  • 2010 Josef Chromy Pinot Noir (Relbia) – elegant Relbia pinot with marked aromatics on the nose and particularly ripe, concentrated fruit in this vintage. Excellent potential for ageing.
  • 2009 Native Point Pinot Noir (Tamar) - rich pinot with plenty of dark and smooth fruit.
  • 2007 Tamar Ridge Kayena Reserve Pinot Noir (Kayena) - Smooth, silky, ever so slightly pinot funky, divinely perfumed wine.
  • 2010 Holm Oak Pinot Noir (Rowella) – Vibrant Tamar Pinot, medium weight with superb structure and briary, spicy fruit.
  • 2008 Grey Sands Pinot Noir (Glengarry) – Textured, superbly structured pinot made for Rita and Rob Richter by Francine Austin of Bay of Fires. Winner of a rare Gold Medal at last November's Royal Hobart International Wine Show.
  • 2006 Silk Hill The Supply Pinot Noir (Gravelly Beach) – dark cherry, plum and earth distinguish the pinots from Gavin Scott’s Gravelly Beach vineyard. This Gold Medallist from the 2009 Hobart International Show has extra smoothness and richness. Drink now or keep for another 2-3 years.

Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
