Home Hill Estate is at Ranelagh in Tasmania's Huon Valley. Since the remarkable 2005 Home Hill Pinot Noir, which won the (then) Tri Nations Trophy, Home Hill in Tasmania's Huon Valley has produced a stand-out pinot in each vintage.
A beautiful wine is always made unforced from a meticulously managed vineyard and that is ever true here. Owner Terry Bennett's viticulture and the Lipscombe's winemaking is a winning combo.
2015 Home Hill Estate Pinot: Michele's notes - Blackcurrant jelly, vanilla and toasty praline plus a waft of sweet florals (candied violet). Breathing space on, aromatic woody herbs assert themselves, keeping the riot of rich fruit nicely in check.
Glides like a sleek, black gondola across the palate, and is as decadent and glamorous. The best Home Hill Pinots drink well from their youth - this is already completely balanced and delicious with lithe and sustained fruit flavours. Cellaring up to 6 years, if you can keep it that long.
