Lisdillon 2019 Pinot Noir
Winery : Lisdillon
Lisdillon is at Swansea on Tasmania's East Coast, a (mostly) sun-shine blessed sub-region noted for producing generously fruity and seamlessly structured pinots.
The pastoral property Lisdillon has been in the Cotton family since 1830. Like his brother Julian (Jack) Cotton of nearby Kelvedon Estate, (the late) Crispin Cotton (d. 2014) diversified from sheep farming into grape growing.
Michele's notes: Abundant and beguiling perfume - exotic spices, cherry/berry with that lovely whiff of Danish pastry and wet stone at the last. Juicy and refreshing flavour profile; the fruit builds with each sip and is complemented by the finest of dry, cleansing tannins.
An excellent pinot for a slow braise of something sticky like lamb shank, oxtail or beef cheek where you need a bit of cut through.
