Spring Vale, from Cranbrook on Tasmania's East Coast is one of Tasmania's best-known pinots. The Lyne family whose generations have farmed Spring Vale since 1875, diversified from sheep farming to grape growing in the 1980s.
With each new vintage release, Spring Vale settles confidently into an exotic, alluring style of pinot that makes its presence felt through insinuation and texture.
Michele's notes: More intensity in this low-yielding vintage. Complex and layered. Bright but deep colour. Berries and fruit cake spice. Ripe fruit in the mouth with some of the fruit cake richness coming through, and gentle grip from the tannins. Characteristic Spring Vale earthiness at the last.
This wine will evolve beautifully in the cellar.
