2019 Pipers Brook Vineyard Pinot Noir: TROPHY BEST PINOT NOIR Royal Adelaide Wine Show 2020. This is a blend of the best parcels of fruit from Kreglinger's vineyards in the Pipers River and Tamar regions. Michele's notes: Deep ruby. Enhanced bouquet - dark berries, lavender, white pepper, clove. Also an exotic smoky element, the warm season allowing for a judicious amount of whole bunch in the ferment. Excellent pinot freshness and nerviness on the palate, the fruit flavours are full and lingering complemented by cocoa, slate and touch of licorice.
2018 Pipers Brook Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir: Michele's notes: This is a classy release from Pipers Brook from fruit off the retrained and partly replanted The Lyre blocks as well as A10 Block. It is a subtle, insinuating style of pinot but it is incredibly tasty too with flavours that power on, long after the last sip has been taken.
2017 Pipers Brook Vineyard A10 Block Pinot Noir: This is from a small block close to the winery building at the original Pipers Brook site, established by Andrew Pirie in 1974. Michele's notes: Vibrant colour. Sweet/savoury yin yang pinot thing going on here, with red fruits, juicy acidity and nutty/toasty notes from very good oak. Intriguing and delicious.
