Merriworth 2023 Sans Souci Pinot Noir

Merriworth is at Tea Tree on the western edge of Tasmania’s Coal River Valley. The 1.5Ha 'Home Block' vineyard was established in 2001 on an east-north-east block. Owner Mark McNamara is the viticulturist and winemaker. 'Sans souci' is made as a fresh and juicy style, with 50% whole bunch and minimal oak influence. It is a perfect partner for cheese, charcuterie and great bread.

Michele's notes: Vibrantly hued. Immediately mouth-watering aromas of raspberry brioche with savoury charcuterie notes. A hint of smokiness, plus fresh herbs and Szechuan pepper, adds interest. Juicy in the mouth with tasty cherry ripe fruit, the wine finishes with fine and chalky tannins.
