2017/18 Bass Phillip Crown Prince: Vineyard notes - Leongatha vineyard, planted in 1996, also supplies fruit for the Estate wines. Phillip Jones notes 'A broad spectrum of rich fruits sitting on a platform of complex acidity, which make this wine very food-friendly... lingers with clean, spicy, complex flavours …. very satisfying on its own or with most main-course dishes. Suitable to drink now, or over the next five years.'
2017 Bass Phillip Estate Pinot Noir: Vineyard notes - 'Source - original Estate vineyard; 8,500 vines/HA; specific plot cropping at approx. one tonne/acre, often blended with the best fruit from our Leongatha Vineyard.
2017 Bass Phillip Issan Vineyard Pinot Noir: Vineyard notes- 'Planted in 1993/94 on a lean minerally site, 15 kilometers from the winery, this vineyard is cropped at extremely low levels (approx a half tonne per acre). 9,000 vines/HA.
2017 Bass Phillip Bin 17K Pinot Noir: Vineyard notes - This 1ha block is basically the backyard of the house at Bass Phillip Estate and only about 300m from the Reserve and Premium block. At 17000 vines per hectare it is very close planted indeed - planting double density gets you vine balance early.
2017 Bass Phillip Premium Pinot Noir: 30+year old vines from a low-cropping 4ha vineyard on the north-east slopes at Leongatha. Layered and long, Bass Phillip Premium Pinots reveal their nuances with at least five years bottle age.
