Vintage after vintage the Bay of Fires team lead by Penny Jones makes outstanding Pinot Noir. The fruit for the 2019 release is drawn from the East Coast.
Michele's notes: Deep in colour. Complex and beguiling aromas - mulberry, damask red roses, dark raspberry with freshly turned earth - a distinctly East Coast touch.
The brooding character comes through on the palate but it is balanced by the wine's essentially lithe suppleness, a hallmark of Bay of Fires Pinots. Plenty of sweet dark cherry fruit and chocolaty flavours, finishing with chalky/chewy tannins with hints of roasted nuts and marzipan.
This is a style of Pinot that you don't tire of drinking.
