Burn Cottage 2016 Pinot Noir
Winery : Burn Cottage
Burn Cottage is located at the foot of the Pisa Range in Central Otago. Every since the first release in 2009, demand has outstripped supply. In a very short time, Burn Cottage has become an icon New Zealand Pinot Noir.
Marquis & Dianne Sauvage planted their vines in 2003 with consultancy advice from Ted Lemon of California's Littorai. Ted continues to consult and shares wine-making duties with Claire Mulholland (ex Martinborough Vineyard). The vineyard is run on bio-dynamic lines.
Michele's notes 2016 Burn Cottage: Rich ruby colour. Plum, blackberry too, cocoa, sarsaparilla combine in a complex and intriguing nose. It gives more and more as it breathes. Already silky and very smooth in the mouth with stunningly lingering dark fruit flavours. Very, very tasting - the lip-smacking goes on for at least 30 seconds.
