DROIN Chablis

Droin Chablis are outstanding wines, from the zesty raciness of the AC level through the complexity of Droin's 1er Cru and Grand Cru range. Importer Tim Stock of Vinous: 'The Droin family is one of the oldest wine producing families in Chablis with over 5 centuries of production... As you would imagine 500 years years gives you plenty of time to acquire vineyards. The Droins have 25ha of vines and arguably the best family owned portfolio of vinyeard holdings in the region with superbly sited parcels in 7 of the top Premier Crus and 5 Grand Crus. The family domaine is now managed by Jean-Paul and Benoit Droin, the 13th and 14th generations respectively.'

  • 2014 Droin AC Chablis: This is flavour-packed Chablis - limey with tangy nectarine and a hint of exotic guava. In the mouth the zestiness continues but it also has volume, a rare, but very satisfying combination. The flavours are clean but linger tantalisingly. Irresistibly delicious. Superb with a roast chicken or any shellfish. Alc. 12.5%
Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
