Dalrymple 2018 Pinot Noir
Winery : Dalrymple
GOLD MEDAL 2019 Australian Pinot Noir Challenge
Dalrymple is based at Pipers River in Tasmania; this full-flavoured pinot is made from the 'home' block and selected grower blocks in other regions of the island. The wine is blend of fruit from Dalrymple's own Pipers River and Coal River Valley vineyards as well as growers in Swansea and Ouse.
Michele's notes: Deep ruby in colour. Spice, dark cherry, charcuterie, wet stone and whiff of petrichor (the aroma of rain on dry soil). Juicy in the mouth with bold fruit and also complex meaty/savoury characters. The acid provides cleansing refreshment of the flavours but in no way dominates, in fact the wine is simply a delicious and very satisfying, harmonious package. A lot of pinot noir here for very few dollars if you take up the dozen offer.
