A top Marlborough producer, consistently producing one of the best Pinot Noirs in New Zealand. Fruit for this wine is sourced from clay soils off hill slopes, some plantings dating back to 1983. Vinified using natural yeasts.
Michele's notes: Deep but vibrant colour. Richly aromatic and brooding with damson plum and dark fruits plus earthy/spicy notes of anise and camphor. Succulent in the mouth, with wonderful persistence of flavour wrapped in tasty, chalky tannins. This wine is a pinot powerhouse, so satisfying on all levels. Cellaring is absolutely recommended, if you can resist its many current charms.
