Domaine Simha White Wines

$55.00 - $88.50
  • Dom Simha Rao Chardonnay Sold Out!
  • 2015 Domaine Simha Rao Chardonnay TAS: Derwent Valley fruit 'handpicked on a flower day after the harvest moon of Autumnal equinox' naturally fermented and then matured in NEW 'demi muid' for 12 months. Unfined and unfiltered. Sublime chardonnay of the highest order. Stone fruits, citrus, floral perfume from classy French oak and great texture. Expect this to rise in the ranks of top Australian chardonnay. From mature Derwent Valley vines.
  • 2014 Domaine Simha Raya 'Sauvage Blanc' TAS: Domaine Simha was established by Nav Singh and Louise Radman. Winemaker Singh learnt his craft in Australia and honed his skills in Burgundy and Bordeaux. Partner Louis Radman worked with Peter Althaus at Domaine A/Stoney Vineyard. Domaine Simha makes wines from top vineyard sites in southern Tas. The 'Sauvage Blanc' is a nod to Domaine A's Lady A (see below), a real wine in the mould of very good white Bordeaux, from whole bunch pressed Coal Valley sauvignon blanc, naturally fermented and matured on lees in a 'demi muid' (600l oak barrel) for 12 months. And that makes for a sublime perfume and ultra lusciousness.
  • 2015 Lotus Amphora Riesling TAS: Fermented in white clay amphora. The porosity of the vessel allows the wine to breathe, lifting the perfume - lime blossom, lemon and slate. Extra texture. Slightly cloudy.
  • 2014 Sanskrit Chenin Blanc Clare V SA: Perfumed with seashells. Stunningly lithe and silky texture. Whole bunch pressed, wild ferment in barrel, 6 months sur lie.
Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
