Glaetzer Dixon 2015 Mon Pere Shiraz

Sold Out!

Nick Glaetzer's 'Mon Pere' Tasmanian Shiraz is a fitting tribute to his father Colin Glaetzer, the 'Baron' of the Barossa. The first vintage Mon Pere (2010), made from Tamar and Coal Valley fruit, surprised the whole country by winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy at Royal Melbourne Show in 2011.

Review for 2014 vintage - Campbell Mattinson Winefront 95+ points: 'The Jimmy Watson Trophy win a few years ago may well have seemed left-field at the time, but there’s little mistaking that it helped unearth a brilliant producer. Here’s yet more proof. Cool climate shiraz. If you like it, you will love this. It’s seamless, it’s spicy, it’s nutty, it’s an array of perfumes and herbs. A garden of fruits, you might say. It comes hand-stitched with tannin and with ample linger to the finish. The rumble and the roast. As an indication: this was pretty much swoon territory for me. I’m happy to call Glaetzer-Dixon as one of Australia’s finest wine producers.'

Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
