Great Value Tasmanian Pinot DOZ No 2
Winery : Various
Vibrant Tamar flavours, the ease of the East Coast and precision and poise from the South make this a terrific showcase of the super 2017 pinot noir vintage in Tasmania.
3 x 2017 Wines for Joanie Portrait Pinot Noir (TAMAR): Joyous packaging, the 'portrait' one of Joanie herself. This was a favourite pinot from our recent Tas Pinot Showcase with its lively perfume of cherry and clove and vibrant flavours. Neither weighty nor light, it is a great partner for antipasti.
3 x 2017 Hughes & Hughes Pinot Noir (SOUTHERN TAS): Made by Mewstone team who were awarded BEST NEW WINERY in the 2019 Halliday Wine Companion Awards. D'Entrecasteaux, Coal R, Derwent & Huon Valley fruit. Vivacious, with pretty aromatics and juicy blueberry/ blackberry fruits. Lovely.
3 x 2017 Gala Estate (white label) Pinot Noir (EAST COAST): The classic Gala soft and easy style gets a bit more grunt in this low-yielding vintage.
3 x 2017 Moores Hill Pinot Noir (TAMAR): This is an excellent new release from the well-established Moores Hill vineyard. Perfumed and briary with blackcurrant too, and a clean savoury finish. Medium weight pinot with energy and clarity.
