Home Hill 2019 WHITE Pinot Noir
Winery : Home Hill
In 2019 the Huon Valley experienced the worst bush fires since 1967. The resultant smoke, which blanketed the area, meant that Home Hill was unable to make either of their highly acclaimed Pinot Noirs - the Estate or Kelly's Reserve. The same situation applied to all producers in the Huon/d'Entrecasteaux region.
However, by gently whole-bunch pressing the fruit and treating like a white wine, the winemaking team was able to minimise the devastating effect of the fires and create a 'White Pinot'.
It drinks like a richly textured rose with Turkish Delight, almonds and honey. Full in the mouth with soft acidity which mellows as the flavours come through.
