Laurel Bank 2021 Pinot Noir
Winery : Laurel Bank
Laurel Bank was established by Kerry Carland in 1986 at Granton, 20 minutes from the Hobart CBD and just north of the Bridgewater Bridge. With a northerly aspect and sloping site, this is a great place to grow pinot noir. Most of the pinot noir vines are now more than 30 years old and have developed substantial growth systems, the advantage being greater carbohydrate reserves in the often dry summers.
Michele's notes: An outstanding release. A ‘wow’ bouquet of rich black fruits with heady florals, spice and coffee. Ultra-sleek and flowing in the mouth, seemingly weightless but with so much delicious flavour. There’s a delightful lick of salty liquorice and slate at the last, framed by the finest of fine tannins. At such a great price, you can generously stock the cellar and enjoy the rewards over the next ten years.
