Laurel Bank 2021 Pinot Noir
Winery : Laurel Bank
Laurel Bank was established by Kerry Carland in 1986 at Granton, 20 minutes from the Hobart CBD and just north of the Bridgewater Bridge. With a northerly aspect and sloping site, this is a great place to grow pinot noir. Most of the pinot noir vines are now more than 30 years old and have developed substantial growth systems, the advantage being greater carbohydrate reserves in the often dry summers.
Michele's notes: Ruby/magenta hue. Very appetizing aromas of plum, brambleberries, white pepper spice and slate/ferrous elements – neither overly fruity, nor completely savoury. Sleek texture in the mouth; this is a deliciously supple pinot through and through. Balances with the poise of a tightrope walker on the palate, finishing cleanly but gently with a final taste of dark chocolate.
