Lisdillon 2017 Pinot Noir
Winery : Lisdillon
Lisdillon is at Swansea on Tasmania's East Coast, a (mostly) sun-shine blessed sub-region noted for producing generously fruity and seamlessly structured pinots.
The pastoral property Lisdillon has been in the Cotton family since 1830. Like his brother Julian (Jack) Cotton of nearby Kelvedon Estate, (the late) Crispin Cotton (d. 2014) diversified from sheep farming into grape growing.
Michele's notes: This is an outstanding Lisdillon release from a low-yielding vintage. Love the perfume here - quince, dark cherry, damask roses... Juicy, lithe and supple in the mouth with exceptional flow across the palate. The fruit is soft but there's a fine, eggshell-like backbone.
