Milford 2017 Pinot Noir
Winery : Milford Vineyard
Milford Vineyard defines the word boutique. This 1.2ha vineyard, which is owned by a group of friends, is exclusively devoted to pinot noir. Planted in 1985, the site, near Hobart's airport in the Coal Valley, is low yielding and of low vigour. Very limited volumes. Made by Alain Rousseau of Frogmore Wines.
Michele's notes: Raspberry brioche, white pepper and wet stone on the nose. Whiff of char too, and the flowers come up with some air. Juicy in the mouth with red cherries and chalky/savoury tannins in a medium-bodied package that would be fantastic with roast pork belly, or something similarly unctuous and rich.
