Morningside 2013 Pinot Noir
Winery : Morningside Vineyard
The Bosworth’s Morningside Vineyard at Tea Tree in Tasmania's Coal Valley has been producing much admired pinots for more than twenty years. Vine age shows in the subtle but persistent flavours and excellent ageing potential of the wines.
Morningside has 9 different clones of pinot planted and the yield is about 4 tonnes per hectare. The majority of fruit is destemmed but 10-20% of whole bunches are included in the ferment depending on vintage conditions. The wine is naturally fermented with wild yeast
Vintage 2013 is a distinctive Pinot, yet typically Morningside, for its intensity of colour and aroma - exotic anise spice over dark berry fruits - currants and bramble berries. And the mouthfeel - vine age, expert viticulture and wild ferment all contribute to the rich fullness and lingering flavours.
