Quiet Mutiny 2019 Venus Rising Pinot Noir
Winery : Quiet Mutiny
Winemaker Greer Carland is the daughter of Kerry Carland of Laurel Bank, a pioneer of the Granton area of Tasmania's Derwent Valley. She has been making wine in Tasmania for 14 years, including as Senior Winemaker with contract giant Tasmanian Vintners (the formerly named Winemaking Tasmania).
Quiet Mutiny is her own project, producing wines from small parcels of premium Tasmanian fruit. This is the third pinot vintage.
Michele's notes: Quintessential heady dark fruits - cherry and bramble berries - with vanilla, cardamom and ferrous elements. Fine but firm structure; the intense, powerful and layered flavours linger superbly. Tremendous ageing potential.
This was a standout wine from our recent line up of new pinot noir releases. Greer Carland has produced another ripper. Vintage 2019 is a fantastic follow on from the multi trophy-winning 2018.
