Rabbit Ranch 2014 Pinot Noir
Winery : Rabbit Ranch
Rabbit Ranch Pinot Noir bears the dab pinot hand of winemaker John Wallace who also makes the elegantly poised pinots of Chard Farm. It is a hit in every vintage, with the (Central Otago) Rabbit style parameters now well set.
In the glass it has brilliant clarity with deep ruby hues. There's a punchy bouquet - dark cherry and sweet spice with rose and violet - and plenty of ripe brambly fruit. Hint or two of fresh herbs. The juicy fruit continues on the palate with an overlay of licorice/meatiness, and there's trademark texture, finishing with a nice glycerol note and finely chewy tannins. Lively acid and bags of flavour.
As an everyday/party-time pinot, Rabbit Ranch is without peer.
