Riesling - TAS Riesling Mixed DOZ

Now: $315.00

A quartet of beautiful Tasmanian rieslings to see out the last of the summer, and beyond, if you can resist.

  • 3 x 2015/16 Laurel Bank Riesling (GRANTON): Granton is just north of the Bridgewater Bridge over the River Derwent. This riesling is always crisp yet with a soft finish, the delicate richness of the fruit to the fore with fragrances that tend from rose and musk to zesty citrus. The overall impression is one of roundness, more sweet lime than sharp lemon, but in an essentially dry package.
  • 3 x 2015 Bream Creek Riesling (EAST COAST): GOLD MEDALS - Tas Wine Show 2017, Canberra Int'l Riesling Challenge 2016, Sydney International 2017, Boutique Wine Awards 2016. What else do we need to add except that Bream Creek is a mature vineyard, brilliantly tended by viticulturist Fred Peacock at the southern end of the East Coast overlooking Marion Bay.
  • 3 x 2016 Milton Riesling (EAST COAST): New vintage release. One of the state's punchiest, most vibrant rieslings. In its first outing it received a SILVER medal at the Tas Wine Show in January. Brilliantly fresh riesling with citrus blossom and vibrant lime. Delicious zestiness with acid integrated.
  • 3 x 2015/16 Craigie Knowe Riesling (EAST COAST): An 'old' label given new life by new owners. The wines are excellent, and a tribute to their old vine heritage - the Cranbrook property, was planted in 1979. A dry/rich style with fruit sweetness hinting at mandarins with a dash of honeysuckle. Perfect drinking now but I'd also love to see it in a smooth nectar-like phase at 10 years old. DRY 12.6%alc.
Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
