Rockburn 2014 Pinot Noir
Winery : Rockburn
Rockburn’s vintage history is just on a decade old. Felton Road assistant winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis joined Rockburn in 2005 ready for the 2006 vintage. The quality of that wine brought Rockburn to a wider and appreciative audience.
Silky dark fruits and aromatic florals define the style of Rockburn - quintessential Central Otago pinot. The silkiness is underpinned by chocolate/mocha and matched with lip-smacking dark cherry juiciness, making it a crowd-pleasing style in every vintage. A deliberately smaller volume than usual was bottled in vintage 2014, as a result of a tight selection of fruit parcels. The wine is made from 11% Gibbston and 89% Parkburn fruit, 90% of which was fermented with indigenous yeasts, including some whole bunch..
