Small Island Wines 2018 Pinot Noir
Winery : Small Island Wines
The Small Island 'black label' Pinot is a blend of Glengarry (Tamar) and Saltwater River (Tasman Peninsula) fruit. The old vine material off the Glengarry site provides full mid-palate flavours and weight. The Saltwater river rounds it out with lifted violet and stem tannin. The Tasman Peninsula is a relatively new area for growing pinot noir in Tasmania. Expect to see a lot more going on in this locale in the future!
The wine was matured in 90% old oak with one reconditioned toasted barrel, all French oak. Full flavoured and very smooth. Dark cherries, cured meat and a dash of oak
Vegan and low in sulphur.
