Three of each -

  • 2016 Clarence Plains JV Pinot Noir (Rokeby Sth Tas): Bold and rich with black currant/plummy fruit and savoury notes of char and cola. Plenty of body in an easy to drink package. Clarence Estate is on the site of the original market garden for Hobart. Clarence Plains is made from some of the younger vines on the estate, although these are now more than a decade old.
  • 2016 Tasmanian Icon Pinot Noir (Tamar V): This excellent Tassie pinot is commissioned by one of the state's top distributors. Lively colour with purple/ruby hues. Floral notes on the nose with rose petal, Turkish delight and bold raspberry. The bright and bold fruit continues on the palate and the subtle oak influence adds to the savoury finish.
  • 2016 Third Child Pinot Noir (Coal V): Soft and easy but very flavoursome Coal Valley pinot. Superb value from this uber boutique vineyard at Tea Tree.
  • 2015 Blustery Banks Pinot Noir (NW TAS): Deep but brilliant colour with a pure, aromatic bouquet of cherry-berry fruits with deeper mulberry. The pure and focused fruit intermingles with fresh spring herbs, notably young sage leaf. Sweet but lively fruit floods the palate. Overall the flavour profile is juicy rather than dense and extracted.

Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
