Three of each -

  • 2015 Gala Estate 'White Label' Pinot Noir (East Coast): Gala Estate is planted on steep and rocky ironstone hills with a northerly aspect at Cranbrook on Tasmania's East Coast. Generously aromatic  bouquet. Rich briary fruits mingle with yeasty/bready wafts, meaty notes and sweet spice. Slurpy, smooth and soft in the mouth, 'barely there' tannins.
  • 2015 Nocton Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir (Coal V): Typical Coal Valley dark berry flavours with a juicy mandarin edge, make this a slurpy, super easy-to-drink pinot. Nocton was established in 1999 on a property that was part of the Carrington Plains Estate (c1814), owned by a succession of Governors of Van Diemen's Land.
  • 2015 Laurel Bank Pinot Noir (Granton Derwent V): Utterly distinctive pinot. Very deep carmine/purple, but still glitteringly translucent. Jubey dark berry fruits on the nose with lashings of spice and hints of candied orange rind. Extra breathing reveals a whiff of aniseed. Smooth in the mouth, with a lovely flow, this is a beautifully weighted pinot.
  • 2016 Drew Pinot (Coal V): Deep crimson/mulberry colour, wonderfully aromatic with brambleberries, dark cherry, hint of camphor and richer nuttiness. Like the aromas, the flavours are vivacious, and zip and bounce around the mouth, leaving you licking your lips for several minutes later. Added to that liveliness and savoury juiciness is an over-riding sweet-fruit softness and weight.
Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
