Two Degrees 2019 Pinot Noir
Winery : Two Degrees
Two Degrees is at the northern end of the Cromwell Basin, not far from Wanaka. Vines were planted in 2003, with the first vintage in 2007. The wine is made by Sarah-Kate & Dan Dineen of Maude.
Michele's notes: ‘Bold ruby/garnet. Gloriously aromatic in that lifted Wanaka way. The fruit seems to sing more sweetly in this most northern of the Central Otago sub-regions. There is allspice and vanilla overlaying ripe dark cherry and brambly fruit. Wet stone too, and a touch of chocolate. It certainly entices you to take a sip.
It is flavoursome with rich dark fruits, flowing and soft in the mouth in that velvety way that only pinot can achieve. But there is more – ultra fine tannins and savoury, toasty oak to finish.
