Two Tonne Tasmania 2017 Pinots
Winery : Two Tonne Tasmania
Ricky Evans' Two Tonne Tasmania wines are made in extremely small volumes and last for barely a couple of months.
2017 Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Pinot: (Tamar) – Fruit is sourced from Relbia, Swan Bay (East Tamar) and Kayena. Pretty, bright magenta in the glass. Lower yields in 2017, with resulting deeper and richer aromas of brambleberry over the typical Tamar vibrancy. Twenty-five percent whole bunch is fully integrated, adding to the perfume and dry, savoury, fine-tannin finish. An excellent release.
2017 Two Tonne Tasmania EST Pinot: (East Coast) - MacLean Bay (formerly Diamond Is) fruit. A much fuller and richer wine than last release, thanks to the lower-yielding vintage. Deep colour, ripe dark cherries on the nose. Rich flavours in the mouth tempered by ultra fine and refreshingly dry tannins. Acid tucked in nicely and serves to add a note of juiciness to the richness. A little time in the cellar will add some more flesh.
