Jonny & Matt Hughes' Mewstone Wines was awarded BEST NEW WINERY in the 2019 Halliday Wine Companion. Hughes & Hughes is their ready-to-go, sometimes experimental range, with fruit sourced from premium plots in northern and southern Tasmania as well as from the home base at Flowerpot in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.

2024 Hughes & Hughes Dornfelder 

North West, Tasmania

Sourced from the White Rock vineyard in the North West, this wine was harvested on March 26th at 12.2 Baume. Whole berries underwent natural yeast fermentation for 20 days before being pressed to seasoned oak for six months of maturation. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Aromatically rich with blackberries, anise, and hints of pepper and savory, meaty notes. The palate is structured with dusty, mouth-filling tannins and precise acidity, yet it carries surprising elegance
