Chardonnay - Apsley Gorge 2025 Chardonnay

Brian Franklin's Apsley Gorge Vineyard is situated 14km north of Bicheno on Tasmania's East Coast. The very long season builds intense flavour and texture in the wines.

Crème brûlée, butterscotch toffee and honey snaps, some saline hints, capers, caper berries also white peach stone and hints of subdued French oak.

On the palate, glycerol manuka honey some lively grapefruit zing and nougat, great use of pulsating acids. It is big but also dainty and elegant showing some vanilla pod and salty cucumber. The acids/palate weight goes on and on like a slow setting East Coast summer sun.
