Holyman 2024 Chardonnay
Joe Holyman has been involved in growing grapes and making wine in Tasmania since 1984. he purchased the vineyard that was planted in 1986 in the Tamar Valley, north of Launceston. In 2008 the construction of the winery began on site. he has expanded the vineyard in recent years with more Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gruner Veltliner and Trousseau.
The Holyman Chardonnay is for our money a true Tasmanian classic. Joe knows how to do it and this vintage is no exception. A perfectly proportioned Chardonnay, strong when it needs to be, delicate where you want it. White Stone fruits, grapefruit, jasmine flowers layered over a frame of flint minerality and texture. Can't help but sigh, it's very pleasurable.
This wine doesn't often make it out off the island. Enjoy.
