Maude Mohawk Hill Pinot Noir 2022

Maude Mohawk Hill Pinot Noir 2022

Winery : Maude Wines

$68.00 - $425.00

Winemakers Sarah-Kate and Dan Dineen developed their respective careers in the Hunter, before returning to SK's homeland of NZ and her family vineyard Mt Maude (Wanaka, Central Otago) in the pursuit of making pinot noir. This wine is a blend of fruit from the Poison Creek, Queensbury (close to Wanaka) and Mohawk Hill in Lowburn (Cromwell Basin). Twenty percent whole bunch, No fining, minimal filtration.

The name given to our Lowburn Vineyard in Cromwell as when you stand amidst the vines and look out across Lake Dunstan, the hill you look directly upon was once aptly named Mohawk Hill by the workers who came to Central Otago to build the Clyde Dam. Planted in 2008 / 220m elevation. Clone 667, Abel, 5 / 33% whole cluster / 26 days maceration - without a doubt the largest and most luscious of the 4 single vineyard Pinot Noirs, ripe cherry and plum aromas - rich, round and cuddly, a definite crowd favourite.
