Mosse Bang Nouveau 2025
An absolutely delicious, thirst quenching dream wine. Raspberry, Orange blossom and garden herbs bounce out of a radiant red pink glass. Light body, dried strawberries, a kind of mouth full of watermelon acidity. This is going to get drunk fast. 11% party wine.
Living Wines Note:
Made as a "vin de primeur", Bang Nouveau is released in November to coincide with the release of Beaujolais Nouveau, a day for partying in French wine bars. In 2025 the Loire grapes for this wine were harvested on 21 August and the wine was bottled on 25 October so everything happened very fast (all in stainless steel tank). The vines are between 10 and 35 years old and grow on clay and schist. It is mainly Grolleau Gris, with a tiny amount of Muscat à Petits Grains from Domaine Caterole in Roussillon, both of which were macerated for a few days (separately) to help create its pink hue, and 10% Merlot, a grape the Mosses don't usually use, which was directly pressed. It is from the same grower they source their other Loire négoce grapes from and according to Joseph Mosse was too good not to take! This is not meant to be a serious wine but is utterly delicious. It is the sort of wine which does not need food and is unlikely to last long once opened. Serve it from the fridge! 11% ABV.
