Elgee Park 2015 Family Reserve Pinot Noir
Winery : Elgee Park
Established in 1972 by Baillieu Myer, Elgee Park is Mornington's oldest vineyard. The wines are made by Geraldine McFaul (Willow Creek and ex Stoniers). The winning combo of old vines (and expert viticulture) and skilled winemaking is evident in this beautiful, and masterful, Pinot Noir.
Michele's notes: It is easy to be smitten from the first sniff - there's charcuterie, morello cherries, violet, spice and earthiness. The wine is soft, subtle and serene, but the flavours are more determined than at first impression. Elgee Park Family Reserve is a Pinot that gives, and goes on giving. This remarkable persistence is the wine's greatest feature. Ultra-fine, talc-like tannins and sweet fruit to the end. Tantalising finish. Ah, the magic of old vines...
