Hurley Vineyard 2022 Pinot Noirs
Winery : Hurley Vineyard
MIXED SIX contains two each of Hommage, Lodestone and Garamond Pinots
Kevin Bell and Tricia Byrnes planted Hurley Vineyard in 1998 and 1999 in the Mornington Peninsula. Kevin is the winemaker and viticulturist, Tricia the business manager and 'all else.' They view these releases as the best so far across all three vineyard sites.
2022 Hurley Vineyard Hommage Pinot Noir: Hommage comprises 0.8 ha of north-easterly aspect. Michele's notes: Quite deep colour with a vibrant bouquet of small berry fruits, blackberries and earthy spice. Juicy, slurpy fruit in the mouth with tasty, slightly gritty tannins.'
2022 Hurley Lodestone Pinot Noir: Lodestone comprises 1.4 ha of northerly aspect. Michele's notes: Kentish cherries, spice, notably mace, with wet stone and orange rind. Serene in the mouth, a meld of pure fruit and the most subtle oak, which lends a note of warm toast.
2022 Hurley Vineyard Garamond Pinot Noir: Garamond comprises 1.2 ha of easterly aspect. Michele's notes: Medium depth with crimson hues. Red and dark cherry with ferrous elements. Impressive depth of flavour without weight, just layer upon layer of persistent fruit. Soft, rounded finish with a whisper of dusty tannins.
