Kooyong 2010 Estate Pinot Noir

Vintage 2010 produced some excellent pinots in Mornington; new release 2010 Kooyong Estate Pinot Noir, is among the most impressive.

Elegant but plush. There's wet stone, plum and mulberry, and super ripe blackberries. The fruit intensity drives through onto the palate which is full and very silky, and has just the right amount of acid to give the fruit an extra spike of brilliance. The oak is superbly handled, never out-spoken in any way, and there's a nice touch of fine tannin and mocha toasty oak to finish things off superbly.
