NZ Great Value Pinot DOZ
Winery : Various
Four top producers from Marlborough and Central Otago with their great value best.
Mixed dozen contains -
3 x 2020 Mud House Claim 431 Pinot Noir: Claim 431 is a limited production, single vineyard Pinot Noir. The fruit is sourced from Mud House's Claim 431 Vineyard in Bendigo, Central Otago. Free draining loam soils over schist gravel makes this sub-region a natural home for growing full flavoured and well-structured pinot noir.
3 x 2019 Rabbit Ranch Pinot Noir: Michele's notes: Central Otago fruit. This is such a fantastic wine in every vintage. Enticing nose of raspberry, plum, marzipan and rose with a hint of sauteed mushrooms. Also fresh thyme. Excellent fresh flavour profile, juicy, not too weighty, savoury - char and cocoa - at the end. Perfect for pork belly.
3 x 2017 Astrolabe Pinot Noir: One of the finest vineyards in Marlborough, producing classy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Michele's notes: Deep colour. Savoury nose of dark cherry and liquorice with meaty/mushroomy aromas. Ultra smooth in the mouth with fine, dry tannins. Tasty
3 x 2019 Terra Sancta Estate Pinot Noir: Terra Sancta is one of the oldest established vineyards in the Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago. The 'Estate' Pinot in the Terra Sancta range is drawn from all of the estate vineyards on Felton Road, including the famed Jackson's and Slapjack blocks. Deep in colour, richly charry, meaty, chocolatey with fab dark cherry. Ultra slippery and smooth in the mouth; the wine's inherent fruitiness and foil to the mocha and liquorice elements.
