Huw Kinch, (formerly Escarpment) and Nick Paulin (ex Felton Road, Peregrine and Lowburn Ferry) provide the winemaking and viticultural expertise.
2019 Pyramid V North Canterbury Pinot Noir: Fruit for this wine comes from Pyramid Valley's own, as well as grower vineyards in the Waipara region. Michele's notes: Deep colour. Rich nose of plum, orange rind, anise, mushroom and char - pinot umami to the fore! Clear fruit in the mouth, not overly plump and a refreshingly linear structure. Savoury, slightly gritty tannins and earthiness to finish.
2019 Pyramid V Central Otago Pinot Noir: Fruit is from Pyramid Valley's own Manata Estate in the Lowburn sub-region of Central Otago. Michele's notes: Deeply hued, but lovely clarity. Harmonious bouquet of dark cherry, damask roses and ferrous/blood elements. Quite alluring. Clear and intense fruit; the flavour profile is juicy and refreshing, with just the right amount of acid to keep things lively.
