Luke Andree began Sonnen Wines in 2020, releasing a riesling and pinot noir. whilst he was still working the vines at Mewstone wines.

A really pleasurable drinking experience here, with the classic Tasmanian minerality and acidity beguiled slightly by stone fruits, fresh cashew and melon. Just a touch of spice at the end rounds it off in a really lovely way. 

This is a great time. Luke Andree is a great time. Tasmania is a great time. It all works together.  Sonnen feels like it's building something here. 

Vineyard notes;

From a single clone (95) and a single block in the Upper Derwent Valley.
Farmed by Charles Downie and James Clements, these vines sit at the vineyard’s highest point, with sweeping views from Mt Field down the Timtumili Minanya / Derwent River to the Taloonne / Huon Valley and Kunanyi / Wellington Park. Whole-bunch pressed, wild fermented, and raised sur lie with full malolactic fermentation in 500L French oak puncheons (20% new).
