Bream Creek is one of the oldest vineyards in tas, having been established on the southern end of the East Coast in 1974. Viticulturist and co-owner Fred Peacock is a master in his field and was awarded Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine 2018 Viticulturist of the Year.

Opening hit of cherry stone, blood plum and thyme. There is some savoury fat in the form of lardons or bresaola and a gentle whiff of oak curling around the fruit with some bitter chocolate.

And there it is, the ‘Bream Creek’ welcoming plush textural handshake, unmistakable and familiar. Again, with the blood plum also fresh blackberries and Asiatic spices, star anise, cinnamon and cumin savoury heat.

There is a slick, confident composure to this wine, like we have been here before maybe? The previous vintages have gone on to being champions on the wine show circuit, it’s a case of ‘look out here we go again’.
