Home Hill 2023 Kelly's Reserve Pinot Noir

Home Hill Winery is at Ranelagh in Tasmania's Huon Valley. Kelly's Reserve Pinot is a barrel-selected wine from one of the original Home Hill blocks, planted in 1995. As well as winning the 2015 Jimmy Watson Trophy with the 2014 iteration, Kelly's Reserve has won multiple Trophies and Gold Medals across many, many vintages. Sadly, due to recent vintage difficulties we have only had one wine, the 2020, available for sale since 2018. This current 2023 release marks a spectacular and very welcome return.

Michele's tasting notes: Enticing and brooding meld of dark berry fruits, meaty aromas, and hints of roasted Yorkshire pudding with petrichor, earth and cola. In the mouth the fruit is plush yet still with great intensity and classic pinot energy. It is extraordinarily persistent - lip-smacking layers and layers of flavour keep pulsing across the palate in a rhythmic dance.
