Glen Ayr 2021 Pinot Noir

Glen Ayr is a well-established Coal Valley vineyard, part of the historic StrathAyr farming property which dates back to 1820. The vineyard was planted in 1975, making it the second to be established in the Coal River Valley. Tolpuddle vineyard, which has taken its name from the association with Loveless, was once part of the StrathAyr property. Some of the vine material is over 50 years old, which has the effect of producing very stable wines across Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Shiraz.

Deep in colour with rich aromas to match. Bold dark fruits and earthy notes in the mouth, complemented by toasted nuts from the oak. Excellent balance here (the old vine effect) with exceptional flow across the palate. Notably firm but fine and complex structure as befits this classic Coal River Valley Pinot.
