Emilia 2015 Pinot Noir

Emilia Pinot Noir is lovingly and skilfully grown by apple orchardists, the Burns, in prime apple (and agricultural) country at Spreyton, not far from Devonport. Marcus and Gail Burns established a 5ha vineyard in 2010, naming the wine after Emilia-Romagna, the northern Italian region where they have spent time being immersed in artisan wine and food culture.

Emilia Pinot Noir is a bright, clear crimson in the glass. Sweetly jubey and smoky/slatey aromas with cherry and rose. Quite intense in the mouth, syupy too with lovely flow; ripe fruit mingles with cola and char. There's zip and an interesting salty edge on the finish.
