Sicily is famed for its Baroque architecture, citrus fruits and marsala. It is also home to a modern and vibrant wine industry, growing both traditional varieties like nero d'avola as well as cabernet, shiraz and chardonnay. Nero d'avola is one of the finest indigenous red grapes of Sicily. Made to drink young it has an appealing fruitiness which Aussie drinkers find delicious.

Michele's notes: Juicy, slurpy, medium-bodied red with brilliant aromas of cherry/raspberry mingling with aromatic white pepper. Amazingly smooth yet lively and very engaging, in part due to the absence of oak - the fruit is pure and focused.
